Phaseform GmbH was founded on 10 July 2020 as the spin-off of the EXIST Transfer of Research project — the company that will take optofluidic adaptive optics from a research result to a product.
The technology it is built on, the Deformable Phase Plate, was developed over the past six years at the Gisela and Erwin Sick Laboratory for Micro-optics at IMTEK, the Department of Microsystems Engineering of the University of Freiburg.
