Phaseform is a sponsor of the 6th Day of Intravital Microscopy, the annual meeting of the intravital microscopy workgroup of German BioImaging (GerBI-GMB). This year's edition takes place on 23 and 24 November 2026 at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) on the Venusberg campus in Bonn.
Two days of imaging living tissue
Intravital microscopy means imaging cells in their native tissue environment in living animals: at depth, at speed, and over hours. That is exactly where optical aberrations bite hardest. Every millimetre of tissue between the objective and the plane of interest scrambles the wavefront, and the deeper you image, the more signal and resolution you lose. Adaptive optics puts that resolution back. It is no coincidence that the programme carries a dedicated adaptive optics workshop, alongside workshops on three-photon and mini2P microscopy.
Invited speakers include Mark Schnitzer (Stanford University), Robert Prevedel (EMBL Heidelberg), Raluca Niesner (DRFZ Berlin) and Jason Kerr (MPI Bonn), with round tables on sample stabilization, image processing and animal welfare, an industry session, and the traditional posters-and-beer evening, with a large share of Germany's intravital community joining.
